But flying private also gives you more flexibility on where you can escape to. With commercial flights becoming more affordable, destinations are filling up fast. Getaways which used to be elite are now available on budget packages. The holiday experience is changing before our eyes.

We examined research based on social media imprints and other detailed data to produce a list of the top 20 popular cities for celebs and the super-rich.

Part of this could be attributed to the ‘influencer’ culture on social media, where users want to be snapped in the coolest cities. Posing by a phone box in London, playing blackjack in Las Vegas, or catching some rays on a rooftop Infinity Pool in Dubai are all amazing opportunities within the Instagram culture.

It’s an interesting contrast. So, how do you know which route to follow?

To get a better idea behind the types of people that visit these destinations via private jet, we examined the research further. We were able to pinpoint the holiday locations for a number of household names.

St. Barts

This proved an extremely popular destination with a wide number of celebrities. Leonardo DiCaprio, Lana Del Rey, and socialite Paris Hilton have all visited the location. Sitting eighth on the list, this destination is favored thanks to postcard beaches, gorgeous weather, and a thriving yacht community. Plus, the limited population – less than 10,000 – adds plenty of privacy.

Hawaii

A longtime honeymoon favorite, Hawaii has been the preferred destination for some prestigious figures.
