Some operators also have a different fee system, depending on the company. Some Air Charter Operators will charge by the mile traveled, while others will charge by the hour. A charge by the hour is most common, as most private aircraft rentals are also charged by the hour. The hourly charge will be based on the type of aircraft, and takes into account the amount of fuel that aircraft burns in an hour, how often the aircraft must be serviced, etc. Like the difference between renting a Ferrari and renting a Chevy, the cost of fuel, insurance, maintenance, luxury, and initial investment is all taken into account for the rental fee.
