Touted as one of the largest, fastest and most expensive business jets in the sky, the G650 is designed to cruise at speeds of Mach 0.85 to 0.90, with a maximum speed of Mach 0.925. With a range of up to 7,000 nmi (13,000 km) the G650 will be able to connect major city pairs non-stop and connect any two points with a fuel stop. With the first flight of the G650 prototype in the second half of 2009 joint certification from the US Federal Aviation Administration and the European Aviation Safety Agency is currently pursued and expected to be completed during 2011. Major operators and customer deliveries are expected to begin in 2012 with charter aircraft to be available soon after.
